"When I joined the community of Dimondale as the Union Bank Branch Manager, I was unfamiliar not only with our customers but the businesses who have made Dimondale a great place to live, work and play.  The Dimondale Business Association (DBA) has been a true asset to Union Bank and has allowed our staff to build lasting relationships with our customers and network with local business owners.  The DBA opens it arms to all and encourages participants to bring forth their ideas and suggestions to help businesses thrive and keep the future of Dimondale bright."

The Mission of the Dimondale Business Association is: To pool our members’ experience, knowledge, and resources as we strive to sustain a vital business climate, promote positive economic growth and benefit the community as a whole.

History

In January of 2020, the Dimondale Business Association (DBA) marked its tenth anniversary of working, advocating and networking for local businesses. The DBA is a grassroots organization led by volunteers with no paid staff. It exists exclusively to promote its members and the Dimondale community. After several failed attempts to organize business owners, the introduction of a successful Farmers’ Market downtown in 2008 provided a focus and an incentive for collaboration. With hundreds of customers, including many new visitors every Thursday during the market season, downtown Dimondale’s appeal as a destination was amplified and an opportunity was created for spotlighting its other offerings. Articles of Incorporation followed in 2010 and the Dimondale Busines Association was born.

Since its inception, the DBA has stayed true to its mission and continued to grow its membership. With the development of a robust website and Facebook presence, and sponsorship of various community events, the DBA’s reputation has also expanded over the last decade. The Association’s signature event is an annual car show held in partnership with the Village of Dimondale and the RE Olds Chapter of the Oldsmobile Club of America. “Small Town, Big Engines” is held each June, on the Friday before Father’s Day. The Dimondale Business Association’s strategy is about connection – connecting business owners with other owners, with resources, with customers and with our community. Today, the DBA is firmly rooted in Dimondale’s progress with an eye toward its future success and prosperity.
